JDS ACTORS STUDIO CELEBRATES SUCCESSFUL FIRST YEAR

JDS Actors Studio holds Open House on December 17, 2010

TEMECULA (November 28, 2010) – JDS Actors Studio is celebrating their successful first year with an open house on December 17th from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm.  The Studio is located at 40935 County Center Drive, Suite G, in Temecula. The public is invited to visit the space, meet the Studio’s owners Scott and Diane Strand, and enjoy one act holiday plays performed by current students.  There is no cost to attend the open house.

“We knew there was a need for an actors’ training ground here,” says actor and experienced teacher Scott Strand.  “There’s such a vibrant, thriving art community in Temecula that we realized we wanted to not only be part of it, but enhance it. Acting has always been my passion, so I get a great deal of joy in coaching students and helping them become the best actors they can be.”

November’s successful Hollywood Showcase Workshop culminated with two Industry Showcases where acting students presented scenes and monologues to entertainment industry professionals.   “I enjoyed attending the workshop,” says talent agent Jana Luker. “And I was impressed by the talent I saw there.”

Eight out of sixteen workshop student actors received calls with offers of representation.  There will be even more offers in January 2011 when casting director Lorna Johnson calls in some of the actors to audition for an upcoming movie.

Showcase Workshop Producer Diane Strand taught the students about the business side of working in the entertainment industry.  “We’re grooming professional actors, so I stressed the importance of having the right supporting materials,” say Strand. “We worked on their headshots, portfolios, and resumes.  A couple of our students also have demo reels that they made in our Acting for the Camera class.”

Ten-year-old workshop participant Jeremy Moore was offered representation and his mother, Justine Moore, is very impressed with the quality of the Workshop.  “Scott and Diane have been the catalyst for my son’s acting career.  Under their supervision, he has learned the skills necessary to land himself a top talent agent and management company in Los Angeles,” says Moore. “I would highly recommend JDS Actors Studio for anyone wanting to seriously pursue a career as an actor.”

JDS Actors Studio will hold more industry professional workshops in 2011, starting with a commercial workshop beginning on January 18 and then another Industry Showcase that will begin February 22, 2011.

Ongoing are their open enrollment acting classes that cater to all levels and all ages.  Classes include Toddler Theatrics for four and five year olds, a six to twelve year olds Acting Class, a Acting Class for teens thirteen to eighteen, and the Actors Ensemble is the adult acting class.

Workshops include Industry Showcases, Acting for the Camera, Commercial Classes, and Public Speaking Classes.

JDS Actors Studio also offers private training.

About JDS Actors Studio

JDS Actors Studio was founded in 2010 by Scott and Diane Strand whose Hollywood credentials run the gamut from acting and teaching, to writing, producing and directing.  The Strands are owners of the successful JDS Video and Media Productions, Inc., a full service video production multi-media solutions company in Temecula and North County San Diego (www.jds-productions.com ).  JDS Actors Studio is a DBA of JDS Video and Media Productions, Inc.

The Actors Studio was conceived to fill a void in theatrical education and instruction after the Strands created and launched an after school Drama Club for local Temecula public schools.  The Drama Club was so well received that the Strands decided to open the Actors Studio to offer dramatic arts and theatrical education and training to more people throughout the Temecula – Murrieta Valley.
