After School Performing Arts Program

JDS Video & Media Productions announced their after school youth performing arts program in the Temecula Valley Unified School Districts in 2010 at Ysabel Barnett Elementary School. The afterschool program grew so much, the owners of JDS, Scott and Diane Strand founded their acting school JDS Actors Studio then four years later found a nonprofit, JDS Creative Academy. Through JDSCA they are now bringing an array of other visual, performing and digital arts programs back into the schools.

Principal Dixon Introducing the New JDS After School Performing Arts Program at Unfortunately our school’s budgets have been cut beyond what one would consider the bare minimum, so to enrich the children of today for their future of tomorrow we are bringing the arts back to the schools.

Mission: To introduce and expose students to Performing Arts in a fun and engaging environment through creative imagination, theatre games, improvisation, story/scene development, theatre terminology, voice and movement.

Goals: To engage students’ imagination and creative expression providing an outlet to share emotion, to develop a love for the arts and dramatic expression through creative writing and storytelling, to increase self-confidence, develop trust, and teamwork between peers, develop a common knowledge of theatre vocabulary (i.e. stage right, wing, story beats, etc…) and provide a foundation for public speaking and being future community leaders.

If you would like to find out about our Drama Club program for your school please put JDS in touch with your school principal.
